In 2020, Carbon Tracker’s Oil and Gas team have written blogs relating to the carbon emission “ambition” announcements of four of major O&G companies – BP, Eni, Shell and Total.

Whilst we commend these companies for engaging with calls from investors, policymakers and the wider public, such approaches are increasingly complex and hard to compare – and the extent to which they ultimately satisfy requests to align with the goals of the Paris Agreement remains open to question.

In this webinar, we will share our analysis with an audience of investors and industry representatives. In particular, we will weigh up the various approaches bearing in mind the twin challenges of “Paris alignment” in emissions terms and the continued need for financial resilience. We hope to stimulate discussion around the shortcomings/potential areas of improvement, and how active shareholder engagement can be used to bridge such gaps.

Speakers:

Andrew Grant & Mike Coffin, Oil & Gas Team, Carbon Tracker

Natasha Landell-Mills, Head of Stewardship, Sarasin & Partners
