Electrification of the truck market is 6-8 years behind the light duty market, but is that gap set to rapidly shrink? Amazon’s recent large order of 200 fully electric trucks could indicate the tipping point of a much larger ‘re-fleeting’ across global heavy duty vehicle fleets. This replacement of the existing diesel fleet with electric alternatives is both a risk and an opportunity for Heavy Duty Vehicle (HDV) manufacturers.

In this webinar Carbon Tracker, InfluenceMap and subsequent panel session will discuss:

  • How quickly will we see fleet operators adopt electric HDVs and what are the reasons for ‘re-fleeting’?
  • Which heavy duty vehicle manufacturers are well positioned to capitalise on the transition to electric vehicles?
  • Are the lobbying positions of HDV manufacturers aligned with an accelerated move to electrification?
  • What new revenue and profit pools does electrification offer HDV manufacturers?
  • What are the financial risks from new entrants? Is there time to adapt?
  • How will the emissions regulations, especially in the US, effect the deployment of electric HDVs?
