A Carbon Tracker event in Association with CCLA
What is climate scenario analysis? Why is it important? Why are investors being increasingly compelled to undertake it? As investors, how should scenario outputs best be incorporated into where, when and how you invest? Does climate scenario analysis sufficiently capture climate and wider ecosystem tipping point financial risks?
Rather than a box ticking exercise within TCFD, climate scenario analysis should be considered an important tool for challenging BAU investment thinking, & enabling the decarbonisation and de-risking of portfolios. Yet feedback from investors suggests that too often, this is not currently the case.
Our panel – with expertise spanning economics, energy transition, climate & ecosystem tipping points, fossil fuel investment risk, asset management and financial policy will bridge the gaps between climate science – economics – and financial practice, & answer your burning questions regarding climate scenario analysis and how outputs can be made ‘decision useful’ for investors.
Speakers:
- Mark Campanale – Carbon Tracker
- Clémence Chatelin – CCLA
- Craig Campbell – Aon
- Oliver Bettis – Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
- Thierry Philipponnat – Finance Watch
- Lydia Marsden – UCL
- Chris Turpin – Non-Executive Director & Advisor
