Jon Grayson is CEO at the Carbon Tracker Initiative and his background is as a sustainable finance specialist, having run Enviromarket since 2006.  There he was responsible for Risk Assessment and Research Programmes. Between 2011 and 2014 Jon was heading up operations at the Social Stock Exchange.

Jon’s background is as a management consultant with Mars & Co in London advising Blue Chip firms on business strategy before embracing a career in finance as a cash equities research analyst with Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette International in late 90’s. Following a refocus towards environmental markets and sustainable business models in 2002 he was a project manager advising executives in the UK health service on turnkey strategies before co-founding EnviroMarket.

Jon provided technical support to the team in 2010/11 ahead of the first Unburnable Carbon report.  He formally joined Carbon Tracker in 2014 as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and became Director General (DG) in June 2018.

Jon holds a first class BSc in Manufacturing Engineering from Durham University, a postgraduate from Cambridge University and an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College where he was awarded the ERM prize for his research on win-win business models for sustainability.

A Fellow Chartered Accountant with more than ten years post qualification experience, as the Head of Finance Mirjana is responsible for financial oversight of Carbon Tracker’s operations. She initially trained as an auditor with Deloitte LLP in Cambridge, after which she worked for Moore Stephens LLP and Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP. She is a specialist in grant management and non-profit accounting.

Mirjana is also the Carbon Tracker Initiative Ltd Company Secretary and a member of the Board Diversity Committee. She has been a driving force in implementing relevant operational policies and procedures to support Carbon Tracker’s continuing growth since she joined the team in March 2016.

She is Trustee of the international charity SolarAid, whose vision is a world where everyone has access to clean, renewable energy. Mirjana holds a first class BA in European Studies from Trinity College Dublin and she also holds a degree from the Institute d’Etudes Politiques in Strasbourg. She completed a course on Peace Research at the International Summer School is Oslo in 2004.

Meena joined Carbon Tracker Initiative in January 2019. She is responsible for fundraising strategy and implementation, research programme management and monitoring and evaluation (impact assessment).

Meena is a Marketing and Business Development professional with substantial business development, marketing and programme management experience in diverse sectors including financial services, oil & gas and research and innovation, across Asia and in the UK. Some of the top brands include Shell, TATAs and King’s College London.

At Shell, she launched their Graduate Employer brand in India and won AC Nielsen CampusTrack award in 2007-8, for positioning the brand among the top 5 Graduate Employer Brands in its first year of operations in India.

After a career break (post-maternity) of over 4 years, she moved to the not-for-profit, climate change space, where she worked as a consultant on a variety of projects, including setting up RethinkX, a not-for-profit think tank (co-founded by UK-based investor and philanthropist, James Arbib, that focuses on understanding the dynamics and the systemic nature of disruption across key market sectors.

Prior to Carbon Tracker, she was with the European Climate Foundation, managing programme operations of two of the largest programmes: Europe Power Transitions and the UK Country Programmes.

Meena has a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from the University of Madras, India and an Executive MBA from Bayes Business School (formerly CASS Business School), London.

Mark is the Founding Partner of Energy Transition Advisors

Mark has had 35 years experience in financial markets spanning three continents in London, New York and Sydney. As a recognized economist and market strategist at leading financial institutions including Citigroup, Salomon Bros and County NatWest, he has researched international economies, currencies, fixed income and equity markets. Mark has also held corporate strategy, finance and management roles including Head of Equity Research at Citigroup Australia and US.

Having a strong interest in the environment and sustainability, starting with a report on climate change and markets in 1991, Mark was head of research at DB Climate Change Advisors at Deutsche Bank from 2007 to 2012, where he produced thought leadership papers for investors on climate, cleaner energy and sustainability topics and advised investment teams in asset management.

From 2010 to 2012 he was Co chair of the UNEP FI Climate Change Working Group and in 2011 and 2012 was part of the technical committee of the UN Secretary General’s Sustainable Energy for All.

He helped develop the Get Fit concept for scaling up renewable energy now deployed in Uganda. Mark was a member of the UK CMCI.

Mark is Chairman of the General Partner Advisory Board of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, a global investment manager focused on low carbon and renewable energy infrastructure assets in North America, United Kingdom and Australia

Mark is Chair of the Research Council at Carbon Tracker where he has authored a number of papers on fossil fuel risks; Special Advisor to the Climate Bond Initiative and to 2° Investing Initiative. He is project lead for the PRI commissioned “Inevitable Policy Response” and a member of the VCMI steering committee.

Mark has a BA in Philosophy & Economics from Oxford University.

Mike joined Carbon Tracker in 2019, and now leads the Oil, Gas and Mining research team, focussing on developing metrics and tools to enable investors to assess oil and gas company transition risk and climate-alignment. Key reports include Managing Peak Oil and Paris Maligned on risk/aligned alongside reports on company climate/emissions ambitions in Balancing the Budget and the Absolute Impact series. Other research themes include broader financial system implications and executive remuneration.

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, Mike worked as a geologist for BP for 10 years on projects across the Upstream value chain, from access to development. Mike has experience working in petroleum basins across the world, including time spent working in Norway, with expertise in unconventional exploration and in leading technical project teams.

Mike has an MA and MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Geologist (CGeol).

In November 2020 Barbara Davidson joined Carbon Tracker’s Regulatory Team as a Senior Analyst leading research on accounting, auditing and disclosures.  Prior to this Barbara worked as an independent consultant on a climate accounting initiative sponsored by the PRI.  Barbara is the lead author of Flying Bind: The glaring absence of climate risks in financial reporting.  She heads Carbon Tracker’s work on increasing stakeholder awareness of the need to improve climate-related disclosures in financial reporting. Barbara has contributed to the drafting of the CA100+ methodology for, as well as the assessment of, companies against the new Climate Accounting and Audit Alignment Assessment.  She writes and speaks regularly about accounting, audit and climate -related issues.

Barbara has over 20 years of advisory, accounting, relationship and stakeholder management experience from working in the US, France, Hong Kong and the UK.  She formerly headed the investor engagement team at the International Accounting Standards Board, where she founded and implemented their Investors in Financial Reporting programme and secured significant relationships in the global investment community.  Barbara’s experience in accounting policy, transaction advisory and audit roles comes from working at international organisations including Morgan Stanley, Nomura, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. Her background has provided her with significant insight into the financial reporting requirements of the investment community, including, but not limited to, environmental policy and climate-related risks.

Barbara was a member of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board’s Climate Accounting Standards sub-group prior to the CDSB joining the ISSB.  She is a US Certified Public Accountant with an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BSc in Accounting from Binghamton University.

Christopher has worked in the global energy markets for over 23 years with a focus on power sector fundamentals, infrastructure and regulation. He has authored numerous analytical reports and led strategic consultancy on global energy issues encompassing critical issues such as security of supply, energy transition, technological and infrastructural impediments, market and price design.

He spent 10 years at IHS Markit (formerly IHS CERA, now S&P Global) heading power research for the company’s integrated Russian and Caspian Energy Service, as well as senior director and thought leader in IHS Markit’s Global Power and Renewables service. Amongst his achievements at IHS Markit, was being awarded State medal for professional contribution to the strategic development of Kazakhstan’s power and utilities’ sector and commitment to energy transition.

Before joining IHS Markit, Christopher founded SEEPX Energy where he advised on power sector strategy for international companies in the UK, Europe, Balkans, Russia, Central Asia and Pakistan.

He began his energy career in power trading, negotiating multi-million pound power contracts between energy companies. During this time, he also advised and managed a major client’s trading portfolio during the Enron collapse.

He completed his formal education in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, where he served for eight years and achieved Best Recruit.

Richard Folland has been Carbon Tracker’s policy and government affairs adviser since 2014 and in 2023 joined as the Head of Policy and Engagement. Richard has over 30 years’ experience as a diplomat and advocate, operating at the highest level, based in Europe and elsewhere. He has worked on the climate and energy agenda, as a policymaker and as a private sector advisor, for 15 years. A former head of international energy policy at the UK Foreign Office, Richard has also been JPMorgan’s European Advisor on Energy and Climate Change, the Executive Director of the Climate Markets and Investment Association (CMIA), and the Head of Energy and Environment at Inline Policy. He was Co-Founder of the strategic advisory firm, Sustineri, working with institutional investors on climate and sustainability issues.

Cary is a leading advisor, author and educator, teaching the Theory and Practice of Sustainable Investing at Brown University, supporting the Sustainable Investment Fund within the Brown Endowment, and is Lecturer at Yale College on various subjects. He also teaches MBA classes at Concordia and Maryland, having previously helped lead the RFK Sustainable Investing program at Columbia’s Earth Institute for Kerry Kennedy’s RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights.

His third book, Sustainable Investing: Revolutions in Theory and Practice (Routledge, 2017) looks at current investment practices and how these need to evolve for the sake of society and financial value.

He led a Working Group in 2015 for the PRI involving some of their largest signatories leading to the development of a Framework for Asset Owner Strategy on Climate Change released during COP 21 in Paris, and advised to and wrote numerous papers for the UNEP Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System including the Value of Everything. He also recently co-authored A New Vision of Value for KPMG and advised to the University of Cambridge’s Investment Leaders Group and Wilshire Associates. He is also Editor of the Journal of Environmental Investing.

Alice Chapple is an economist and a specialist in impact investment and impact assessment. She established Impact Value, a business and investor advice organisation, in October 2012. Alice used to head up the financial services sector work at Forum for the Future, a not-for-profit adviser on sustainable development.

Alice has worked on projects exploring the scope for innovative financial instruments, more effective valuation techniques, better risk assessment, and longer-term investment strategies. Before her time at Forum For the Future, Alice worked at development finance institution CDC in various roles, including financial analyst, fund manager, and social and environmental advisor. She also worked for Actis, the emerging markets private equity firm. Alice has an MA in economics from Cambridge University and is a chartered accountant.

Deputy Chief Executive, Conduit Capital

Meg has over 20 years’ experience in sustainability and impact investment and leads Conduit Capital’s Business Development activities globally. Prior to joining the team, she led marketing and product strategy at Impax Asset Management, as well as co-leading sustainability reporting across the firm. An alumni of Harvard Business School and the London School of Economics, she has previously held roles at Citi Investment Research, the Global Impact Investing Network and the UK Sustainable Investment & Finance Association.

Environmental Economics (PhD.), University of St. Gallen, Switzerland

Dr. Tauni Lanier has been named as a non-executive director of Carbon Tracker and recently interim Chair. Lanier, formerly Executive Director of IMPACT2030, the only private sector-led initiative with the United Nations and other stakeholders to unite companies in their corporate volunteering efforts on the Sustainable Development Goals, is Sustainability Director at World Wide Generation (WWG), a UK fintech firm. Earlier in her career she was the first Managing Director of the Dow Jones Sustainability Group Index and subsequently, Senior Project Manager for the Sustainable Development Reporting Project with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Natasha is currently a Partner and Head of Stewardship at the asset manager Sarasin & Partners LLP, where she steers the integration environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters in the investment process; voting and company engagement; and public positioning on key sustainable investment matters. Since 2017, she has spearheaded Sarasin’s flagship Climate Active strategy. Natasha is a member of the UK’s Financial Reporting Council’s Investor Advisory Group, is a member of the Disclosure and Transparency Committee of the International Corporate Governance Network and sits on the Consultative Advisory Group to the International Audit and Assurance Standards Board. Natasha is currently a member of the Investment Committee for the Cambridge Assistants Contributory Pension Scheme. Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners, Natasha spent six years as the Senior Analyst leading ESG integration and several areas of policy work at the Universities Superannuation Scheme’s Investment Management arm; and four years in Budapest working with OTP Fund Management and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Before moving into finance, Natasha spent a number of years working on sustainable development issues in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Natasha started her career as an Overseas Development Institute Fellow, working as the Chief Economist in the Guyana Forestry Commission.

Natasha has Masters in Economics from Cambridge University, an MSc in Natural Resource Economics from University College London, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Nick joined the Grantham Research Institute in February 2018 as Professor in Practice for Sustainable Finance. Nick leads the sustainable finance research theme. The focus of his work is on how to mobilise finance for climate action in ways that support a just transition, promoting the role of central banks and regulators in achieving sustainable development and investigating how the financial system can support the restoration of nature.

Nick is author of The Road to Net Zero Finance for the UK’s Climate Change Committee and co-founder of the Financing the Just Transition Alliance and is also a Commissioner on Scotland’s Just Transition Commission. He leads the finance platform for the Place-based Climate Action Network, and is co-chair of the International Network for Sustainable Finance Policy Insights, Research and Exchange (INSPIRE).

From 2014 to 2018, Nick was co-director of UN Environment’s Inquiry into a Sustainable Finance System. As part of this, Nick established the Sustainable Insurance Forum of regulators and the Financial Centres for Sustainability network, as well as leading country activities in Brazil, the EU, India, Italy and the UK.

Before joining UNEP, he was Head of the Climate Change Centre of Excellence at HSBC. Prior to HSBC, Nick was head of Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI) funds at Henderson Global Investors. Nick has also worked at the International Institute for Environment and Development, the European Commission and the Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Nick is co-founder of Carbon Tracker and also co-founder of Planet Tracker. Nick has published widely and is the author of The Corporation that Changed the World: How the East India Company Shaped the Modern Multinational‘ (2005) and co-editor of Sustainable Investing: the Art of Long-Term Performance (2008). He is currently working on an ecological history of England and a book on finance, climate change and justice. He has a BA in History from Cambridge University and an MSc in International Relations from LSE.

Chris joined Carbon Tracker in 2022 as Senior Corporate Research Analyst for European Power & Utilities. Chris joined from BEIS, where he advised HM Government on corporate finance as part of the Carbon Capture and Underground Storage (CCUS) team, focussed mainly on biomass. Prior to this, Chris was a Supervisory Analyst/ Director at Fitch Ratings with responsibility for European & UK power, gas, water and waste debt issuers. Chris also has 25 years’ experience as an equity analyst specialising first in autos and later in European power, gas and utilities, both in Italy and the UK at Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan/ Cazenove and most recently at ABN AMRO/ RBS.

Chris has a BA (Hons) in Modern History from Brasenose College, Oxford.

Neil Quach, CFA, joined Carbon Tracker in 2022 as the Senior Corporate Research Analyst covering the North American Oil & Gas sector.

Neil previously worked as a sell side equity research analyst at Citigroup and UBS with coverage of the Integrated Oil Companies. His team was ranked number one seven times by Institutional Investor magazine and was also top ranked on the Greenwich Associates research surveys. More recently he led the research effort at a few energy and commodities oriented hedge funds.

Neil has a B.A. with honors in Finance from New York University’s Stern Business School.

Lee Ray, CFA, is a senior analyst in the Corporate Research team where he analyses emerging markets and developed Asia. He believes the ongoing transition to a low carbon economy is the defining challenge and opportunity of our time and is not discounted by investors.

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, Lee worked as a senior fund manager in the Global Emerging Markets Equities Team at HSBC. Lee also worked at Rexiter Capital Management and Blackfriars Asset Management as a portfolio manager/investment analyst with a focus on Emerging Markets, having been on the buy-side since 2005. Prior to this, Lee spent 4 years as a tax accountant with KPMG covering the financial services sector.

He holds a BA (Hons) in English, Philosophy and Spanish from Durham University, qualified as a chartered accountant (CA), and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.

Ben joined Carbon Tracker in 2022 focussing on the Automotive sector.

Prior to Carbon Tracker, Ben worked at MUFG Bank in London providing financial and industry analysis on the automotive sector to help manage the bank’s credit exposure and risk appetite. He has also worked directly within the automotive industry at Aston Martin Lagonda. Ben started his career at IHS Markit where he led the E-Mobility research service, focussing on decarbonisation and emissions legislation.

Ben holds a degree in Physics from the University of Leeds.

Jonathan works in the Power & Utilities Team as a Senior Analyst.

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker in 2021, he spent eight years with commodity and energy sector focused business intelligence provider Argus Media, where he initially worked on power trading analysis before leading the company’s emissions markets coverage, during which time he developed a strong interest in climate sector policy.

Jonathan also spent time working as a grains market analyst with brokerage Jackson Son & Co. between 2011-2013, while he holds an MA in International Journalism and a BA (Hons) in English Literature & Philosophy, both of which were achieved at Cardiff University.

Sepi Roshan is a Senior Analyst in the Accounting, Audit and Disclosure team.

Sepi is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of advisory, policy and stakeholder management experience in Australia and the UK.  Her experience in accounting policy, transaction advisory and audit, comes from working at international organisations including Morgan Stanley, BNP Paribas, and KPMG. Sepi has also worked in sustainability-related matters, including providing expert evidence to the UK House of Lords and UNESCO. She holds a Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration).

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, Sepi was a Policy Advisor at the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions providing research and analysis supporting the Victorian (Australia) government’s COVID-19 business response and recovery.

Guy joined carbon tracker in 2022 as a Senior Analyst in the Oil, Gas and Mining team. Prior to Carbon Tracker, Guy worked in Commodity Insights at S&P Global (and previously IHS Markit) where he led a team focused on the upstream energy sector in Europe. Here he spent around 8 years developing upstream asset and company valuations alongside providing expertise on economic and geoscientific risk to a wide range of clients.

Guy graduated with a BSc in Applied Geology from Plymouth University and went on to complete a MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience from Aberdeen University. In 2014 he completed a PhD in numerical stratigraphic forward modelling at Royal Holloway University of London.

Durand is a data scientist at Carbon Tracker in the Power & Utilities team, with experience across a wide range of domains. Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, he was a freelance data journalist producing interactive visual stories, winning an Information Is Beautiful award along the way. He also worked on a PhD in computational stellar astrophysics at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Germany, until his lifelong obsession with climate & energy policy prevailed. He is interested in how machine learning can be used for social good and to bring about a just transition.

Alongside his role, Durand is Carbon Tracker’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Diversity Champion.

Durand holds a Masters in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leeds.

Philip has 20 years’ experience in the asset management industry having previously worked as a global equity analyst and portfolio manager at Universities Superannuation Scheme and Old Mutual Asset Managers.

Philip holds a masters in IT from the University of Stirling.

Lorenzo works in the Power and Utilities team as a Power Analyst.

Before joining Carbon Tracker, he worked as Research Engineer in the Division of Energy systems of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. His research focused on energy system modelling and decarbonisation pathways in Southeast Asian countries. His belief in the need for a fair and swift energy transition brought him to Carbon Tracker.

Lorenzo holds a double master degree in Sustainable Energy Systems from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). He holds a BSc in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.

Tino joined Carbon Tracker’s Regulatory Team as an Associate Analyst working on accounting and auditing climate disclosures. Prior to this, Tino spent years working in the accounting industry. There he gained experience and working knowledge of financial reporting for companies in a wide variety of sectors.

Tino graduated from Lancaster University with a BSc in Economics with a particular interest in environmental and development economics.

Maeve joined Carbon Tracker’s Oil, Gas & Mining team in 2022 and has since authored reports including Missed Pitch, on the fossil investment practices of asset managers, as well as Absolute Impact 2022 and Crude Intentions on the alignment of company emissions targets and remuneration policies.

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, Maeve worked on eurozone financial market policy at the European Central Bank, having previously spent two years working in corporate finance and trading at Bank of Ireland.

Maeve holds an MSc in European Economic Studies from the College of Europe and a BA in Political Science, Philosophy, Economics, and Sociology from Trinity College Dublin.

David joined Carbon Tracker’s Regulatory and Accounting team as an associate analyst in 2022. Before Carbon Tracker, David worked at CDSB, focussing on developing reporting guidance for climate and wider environmental issues. As part of his work, he contributed to the preparatory technical work for the establishment of the IFRS Foundation’s International Sustainability Standards Board.

David studied earth sciences at the University of Oxford and recently completed a Master’s in science and technology studies at UCL. As part of the latter, he conducted research into corporate uses of climate scenario analysis.

Sam joined Carbon Tracker in 2022 as an Associate Analyst in the Power and Utilities team. Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, he worked as a Research Associate in CLSA’s equity research department based in Hong Kong, focusing on thematic investment trends in Asia and emerging market macrostrategy.

Sam graduated with a BA in Philosophy from the University of St Andrews and also studied Mandarin at Beijing’s Tsinghua University.

Charlie has been at Carbon Tracker since February 2020 and is an Associate Analyst in the Accounting, Audit, and Disclosure team. Charlie conducts research for accounting-related reports and targeted analyses of company accounts for investor groups. He also manages the Climate Accounting and Audit Alignment Assessment as part of the Climate Action 100+ Net Zero Company Benchmark. Charlie worked closely with lead-author, Barbara Davidson, on the September 2021 Flying Blind report.

Before working on accounting and audit disclosure, Charlie supported Carbon Tracker’s research teams, mostly the Regulatory team. This included work on asset retirement obligations, oil and gas remuneration, and coal and gas company profiles.

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, Charlie graduated from the University of Sussex in 2019. Here he studied Human Geography, focusing on climate change science and policy, international development, and economic geography.

Saidrasul is an associate analyst with the Oil, Gas and Mining Team.

He focusses on corporate emissions targets and remuneration policies and has co-authored the latest edition of Absolute Impact and a primer on transition risks in the midstream sector.

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, he worked as the managing editor of the Uzbekistan Energy Monitor, covering oil and gas, conventional power and renewables. He also worked as a correspondent and news presenter.

Saidrasul holds a BA in Commercial Law from Westminster International University in Tashkent and an MPhil in Sociology from the University of Cambridge.

Amy works as a Research Associate for Mark Campanale. Before joining Carbon Tracker, she worked as a Senior Public Affairs Executive in a membership organisation representing the publishing industry, leading on public affairs and sustainability work. She won PRWeek’s CCPA Public Affairs Newcomer of the Year Award in 2020.

She holds a master’s degree in International Security from Bristol University, where she also studied a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations.

Olivia joined Carbon Tracker’s Oil, Gas & Mining Team as an Associate Analyst in 2023. Previously, Olivia managed a project on climate-related financial risk for the University of Oxford. She has also advised private equity, growth equity, and private credit investors as an ESG management consultant at Malk Partners, where she completed over 200 ESG due diligence reviews and co-developed the firm’s climate change due diligence framework and private credit service line. 

Olivia holds an MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise, and the Environment from the University of Oxford and a BS in International Affairs (majoring in International Economics) from Georgetown University. 

Rich joined Carbon Tracker in October 2023 as an analyst in the Oil, Gas & Mining team.

Prior to this, he worked as an editor and reporter at the climate non-profit organisation DeSmog, investigating misinformation, greenwashing and the influence of vested interests on climate and energy policy. He published stories alongside outlets including The Times, The Guardian and The Independent.

Rich holds an MSc in environmental and energy economics from University College London and a BA in French and Russian from Oxford University.

Nina joined Carbon Tracker in 2023 as the Program Manager for Asset Retirement Obligations and the Global Registry.

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, Nina worked as a chemist specializing in water and polymer chemistry, where she was responsible for formulating fracturing fluids and analyzing field water chemistries. Subsequently, she gained experience in the semiconductor industry, overseeing safety measures for chemical cleanup projects.

Nina holds bachelor’s degrees in both Chemistry and Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, she is a candidate for an MSc in Analytics at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Daylon Howell is a dedicated research professional with a passion for sustainability and environmental advocacy. He joined Carbon Tracker in 2023 as a Data Analyst for the Asset Retirement Obligations and Global Registry Programs.

Daylon’s holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Studies from Texas State University, as well as a Postgraduate Professional Certificate in Data Science and Business Analytics from the University of Texas.

Daylon brings to the team a diverse background encompassing social research, data science, business analytics, environmental science & management, and public administration. He previously served as the State Programs Reporting Coordinator at the Texas Water Development Board, a role that involved extensive data analysis and reporting on state financial assistance programs. He has additionally worked in city-level emergency management, and environmental policy advocacy and research. He chaired the Texas State University Environmental Service Committee, a student-led board that allocates funds to environmental improvement projects on campus, and sat on the Accessibility Coordination Team at TWDB assisting in setting accessibility standards across the agency.

Drew is a Project Coordinator on the ARO team, focusing on analysing data regarding oil and gas infrastructure decommissioning. He joined Carbon Tracker in May of 2022. Prior to this, he worked as a project coordinator at a translation company.

Drew graduated from the University of Portland in 2021 with a BS in Environmental Science and French. While there he studied a variety of environmental topics but was drawn to studying international climate issues and solutions.

Simon brings over 20 years’ experience working in client facing roles at financial institutions. He was previously working at Japaninvest / Haitong International before joining our team where he was the Executive Director – Equity Research, ESG, Execution and Capital Markets Sales. Simon holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the CFA Society of UK.

Stefano has over 20 years of experience as a journalist, editor and communications professional. He joined from the European Climate Foundation where as International Communications Manager, he co-founded a  global communications network that supports organisations like CTI. Previously he was a Senior Correspondent with Reuters news agency for 14 years, where he reported on energy, commodities, financial markets and British political & general news. For Reuters he broke a string of world exclusives in the build up to the Iraq War on Washington secretly moving heavy armour to the Gulf months ahead of the 2003 invasion. Over the years he has also worked for the Evening Standard, the Daily Telegraph, Euromoney magazines and a newspaper in Latin America. Stefano has a BA Hons in Politics and Economics and a postgraduate vocational qualification in Journalism (National Council Training of Journalists).

Margherita is Senior Communications and Design Manager at Carbon Tracker. She joined the team in 2014 and has contributed to the establishment of Carbon Tracker’s brand in the climate and finance space. Margherita is responsible for developing our event strategy and research distribution through a network of strategic partnerships. She brings graphic and visual skills, which she applies to Carbon Tracker’s brand identity, report and infographic design, website and social media presence.

In 2013, she completed a Master’s specialisation in Green Management, Energy and Corporate Social Responsibility at Bocconi University in Milan and an internship in the Investment Advisory Service and ESG Research teams at Sustainalytics in Amsterdam.

In 2009 she co-founded a creative services consultancy, where she has worked for three years as project and communications manager.

Prior to this, she graduated with a Ms in Cultural Management and Innovation at the University of Bologna, and worked in a communications agency in Barcelona and in a European NGO promoting cultural education in Brussels.

Daniel Cronin joined Carbon Tracker in 2018 as the U.S. Press & Communications Manager.  He is based in New York City.

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, Daniel was the Public Relations Manager for the United Nations International School in New York City.  In addition, since 2000, he has also worked in communications for members of Congress, public charter schools, and advocacy organizations.  His efforts have resulted in coverage from media outlets including CNN, The New York Times, FOX News, Al Jazeera, The Washington Post, Xinhua News Agency, and The Wall Street Journal.

Daniel was born and raised in Upstate New York and graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1998.

Joel Benjamin is the Press & Communications Manager at Carbon Tracker. Joel has experience in social media, research and journalism – with work featured in C4 Dispatches, The FT and BBC.

Joel has researched the fossil fuel exposure of 100 local government Pension Scheme funds, culminating in the publication of the Reinvesting Pensions report in 2016. He has held roles as a Research Assistant for the Political Economy Research Centre at Goldsmiths University and been a campaigner for Move Your Money UK.

Previously, he has undertaken governmental environmental planning and consultancy roles for various organisations in Australia, New Zealand, Oman and the UK. He has a BSc in geography from Otago University & has studied towards a Masters in regional resource planning at Massey University, NZ.

Evgenia joined Carbon Tracker in 2021 and is now the Events and Communications Officer. Before joining Carbon Tracker, she worked as a Business Development Analyst at a FinTech start-up in Singapore. She was also a CSR and Communications Associate for Energean Oil & Gas. 

Evgenia holds a master’s degree in Sustainability and Energy Management from Bocconi University as well as a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Bath. 

Saurav works in the development team as a Fundraising and M&E Associate, designing frameworks for capturing the impact of the organisation’s pioneering research and expanding its funding avenues.

With a track record in founding start-ups at a young age and executing intrapreneurial roles in global non-profits, he was selected as one of the youngest Global Shaper in Bangalore in 2017 by the World Economic Forum.

Mirabella is Carbon Tracker’s primary project manager. Part of the central team (production, fundraising and M&E), she works closely with project leads and research teams across the board to execute all publications. In addition, she helps with writing fundraising proposals and reports for Power & Utilities.

Before joining Carbon Tracker, Mirabella worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in research administration. She also served as a board member for Boston Rotaract, a chapter of Rotary International that focuses on local and international service projects. Mirabella has strong interests in education, philanthropy, and sustainability.

Mirabella has an MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she focused on disaster risk reduction using information communication technology. She also founded Women of Colour in Consulting, LSE’s first student-led organization to support professional women of colour. She has a BA in Journalism and Portuguese from UMass Amherst and a graduate certificate in Organizational Behaviour from Harvard.

Kingsmill Bond, CFA, is a Senior Principal in the Strategic Analysis and Engagement team at RMI. He previously worked at Carbon Tracker as the Energy Strategist.

Kingsmill has worked as a sell-side City equity analyst and strategist for 25 years, including for Deutsche Bank, Sberbank and Citibank in London, Hong Kong and Moscow. He has written research on emerging market and global themes, including the wider significance of the shale revolution and the impact of US energy independence.

He has an MA in history from Cambridge University, qualified is an accountant (CIMA), and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.

Anthony was Chief Executive Officer of the Carbon Tracker Initiative from February 2014 to March 2019, and now is co-chair of the Advisory Board. Previously he was a partner and Global Head of the Sustainability & Climate Finance Practice at global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. Formerly he was General Counsel to the Climate Change Capital Carbon Fund and Director of Legal Policy for Climate Change Capital which he joined in September 2005.

Anthony specialised in climate change and clean energy law as well as UK, EU and international environmental law. He has played a key role in helping to design the UKs pilot emissions trading scheme and in developing key aspects of the EU ETS. Anthony was seconded to Norton Rose Fulbright’s Sydney office between 2010 and 2012 where he was heavily involved in the development of the emerging carbon and clean energy markets in Australia and Asia. He was a key figure behind the creation of the business advocacy group Businesses for a Clean Economy, a coalition of business arguing for a price on carbon.

Anthony was behind the creation of the business group Climate Markets & Investment Association. He sat on the board of the Verified Carbon Standards Association (now Vera) between 2007 and 2015. He currently sits on the Advisory Board to the Climate Bonds Initiative and the Global Footprint Network. Anthony holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Chemistry & Physics and an LLM in Environmental Law. He qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales in 1994.  He writes and speaks widely on climate risk and the financial sector.

Paul graduated from Oxford University with an MA in Chemistry in 1980. Later that year, he joined Dresdner Bank (then Grieveson Grant) analysing the financial performance of UK oil companies quoted on the London Stock Exchange. In 2005, he moved to HSBC, where he was Global Co-Head of Oil And Gas Research.

He was one of the first “conventional” oil analysts to publish research in to the potential cost of carbon for oil companies with two reports in 2008 and 2013, both called “Oil & Carbon.  He retired from HSBC in 2013, after 33 years as a financial analyst. He is now Research Advisor to Carbon Tracker.

Harry Benham has over 30 years international experience in the oil and gas industry with BP and Shell’s Upstream Projects, and several years working in an advisory capacity with EY Oil and Gas in the UK. He now works mainly in energy transition roles as Chairman of the London-based think-tank Ember-Climate, and as a transition advisor to Carbon Tracker.

Greg is a practitioner-scholar in accounting for climate change. He wrote the seminal desk book on financial reporting of environmental liabilities and risks. In addition, Greg is a Fellow and Advisor to the Master of Accounting Program at Cambridge Judge Business School.  He worked as an advisor to BP and its auditors Ernst & Young on liability estimates and disclosures arising from the Deepwater Horizon disaster.  He has consulted/testified as an expert in environmental and climate-related litigation.

Brian is a founding partner at Kaya, an advisory and investment firm focused on climate change and transition. Prior to that, Brian spent over 20 years in the finance industry. During this time, he served as Managing Director at Nomura, Bank of America, UBS, and Morgan Stanley where he ran the Emerging Market Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange distribution operations in Europe. His specialty is the financial markets of developing nations.

Brian is currently completing a MSc in Climate Change Finance & Management at Imperial College and serves as a consultant to philanthropic circles working on catalysing the sustainable finance market.
